Last Thursday, July 16th 2009 I intentionally decided to go to SM City upon knowing that OTOP is having a weeklong exhibit. I always wanted to see those fantastic and eclectic Ilonggo products, may it be Herbal Medicines, Furniture, Woven pieces, food, chic accessories and other crafts being exhibited through OTOP. I really like the idea of having OTOP in the Philippines because it really boosts the local products by showcasing them in exhibits and giving them assistance to further improve it.
I roamed around several booths and was amazed that Ilonggos are really talented in many ways. I came across one booth that really captured my attention. It was the Pinili Home Decor’s that displays there elegantly art crafted bamboo pieces. I couldn’t resist myself from taking photos of these masterpieces.
I’ve visited the website of Pinili and there you will get stunned upon viewing their online gallery of their products. Pinili was catalyzed by Mr. Noe Gumayao who succeeded in their family owned business and then created Noe’s Upholstery and Enterprises in Molo. It was later then known as Pinili Home Decor and they started doing the uniquely-crafted furniture using the most teeming material available in Iloilo, Bamboo. They decided to enter the International arena and was warmly accepted in the market. They are innovating with their product lines and designs that led them to tap Mr. Carlo Tanseco, one of the country’s young and promising artist and designer. Tanseco persuaded Pinili to create more masterpieces with elegant new designs that suits the modern lifestyle of today. True to its name “PINILI” which simply means extraordinarily chosen from the crop. Now they have several showrooms located in Manila and Iloilo. Their products includes chairs, tables, furniture, furnishing, houseware, lamps and pet toys… mini to huge fabrications… ethnic to modern designs…
