All new Robinsons Iloilo foodcourt

Robinsons Place Iloilo just opened a spanking new foodcourt. Occupying half of the original foodcourt area at the second floor, this new dining destination has a total of 9 leasable spaces, 4 of which are now occupied.

It sports a more modern look and feel although they retained the old tables and chairs. The tenants has also improved their in-store designs integrating brighter colors and more gliterring signages..

The foodcourt renovation was in order because the previous one was big enough that ever since, it never attracted enough tenants to fill its empty spaces.

The first tenants to open are Casa Ilongga, Ocean City, Wev’s and Junies.

The other half of the original foodcourt will be utilized as the Market Bazaar to provide spaces for the displaced tiangges after their former location was occupied by Watsons and CDR King.

More developments for expansion are on the pipeline for Robinsons Place Iloilo this 2012 with the opening of Go Hotel in its current Ledesma parking area.

Bluejay Coffee just opened its most elegant branch to date at the Ayala Technohub here in Iloilo.

Located at the ground floor of the Technohub building, Bluejay boasts of an ample and cozy space with air-conditioned and al fresco. A perfect place to see and be seen while enjoying a hot brew, this new establishment has definitely affirmed that Smallville is a top destination for foodies and socialites.

Krua Thai Iloilo reopens under new name – Siam Thai Cuisine

Krua Thai, one of the few fine restaurants serving authentic Thai cuisine in Iloilo will reopen in its new location with a new name.

Krua Thai will close its Smallville Complex restaurant starting November 24, 2011 to give way for the construction of a new restaurant still located along Benigno Aquino Avenue (Diversion Road) in Mandurriao beside Metrobank. It will open on December 15, 2011 and will be renamed to Siam Thai Cuisine, Krua Thai’s sister restaurant with branches in Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and other parts of Visayas and Mindanao.(...)

Join Tabu-an, the First Western Visayas Ilonggo Heritage Cooking Competition and Food Fair at Esca’s Garden Restaurant in Aurora Subdivision.

The 6-day culinary event will start on November 14 and ends on November 19, 2011.

It aims to honor the Tabu-an tradition by celebrating it with a culinary competition. The Tabu-an is said to be the prototype of all food markets in the Philippines. It started as a trade center for surplus agricultural products using shell currency and ceramics in the pre -colonial beginning and silver during the Spanish colonial period. It is usually found along main crossroads, river intersections and seaports.

Pilot branch of Mang Inasal Junior opens in Iloilo on 11-11-11

Mang Inasal is introducing a new addition to its ever fast-growing network of branches to cater to more and more customers.

The chicken inasal fastfood giant is launching Mang Inasal Junior (Jr.) with its pilot branch opening in Iloilo City on November 11, 2011 (11-11-11).

Mang Inasal Junior is basically a spinoff of the regular Mang Inasal restaurant we used to enjoy albeit smaller in terms of area.

Some of the tenants for Ayala Technohub Iloilo included in the list I previously posted here are slowly becoming a reality. Hinduja Global Solutions, an Indian based call center company is already operational, occupying part of the second floor of the Technohub’s first building.
