Central Philippine University (CPU) is one of the centerpiece in Iloilo City comes December. People are trooping to CPU every cold night of December to be entertained by the glittering lights graffiti as the whole campus transforms into a holiday crib decorated with superb Christmas lights ornaments. Not only that, there is another reason why people come, it’s the nightly Musicale that features amateur singing aspirants of all ages. Held at the CPU Big Field, the contest is a great complement to the shimmering lights surrounding everyone while catching a breath of the chilled December breeze. The gala is being aired through the CPU Alumni Channel, broadcasted all over the city.

On the opening night, witness the grand fireworks display as it marks the switching on of the festive lights that draws the largest crowd in the month-long fete.
Food lane cannot be out of the scene. Clustering food stalls are aligned along the Half Moon Drive with varieties from inasal to pizzas and fruit shakes.
The Annual Festival of Lights and Music at Central is hosted and funded by the CPU Alumni Association, Inc. with chapters all around the globe usually held between the first Friday of December and the first Monday of January the next year.
Festival of Lights and Music at Central 2009 is set on December 4, 2009 and will end on December 4, 2010 with the theme “Hatag Gugma sa Paskwa ‘09”.
