One of the most frequented destinations in Roxas City, Capiz is the Dumulog Fish Drying Area. Aside from the fresh seafood in Baybay the city also boasts as one of the top supplier of dried fish all over the country. They even export some of them to other countries.

Blankets of fish being dried under the hit of the sun can be found in Brgy. Dumulog few kilometers away from the city proper. Dumulog is a seaside barangay in this part of the city facing the underdeveloped island haven of Olotayan also part of Roxas City. The main livelihood of the people in this barangay is mainly fishing and fish drying.

Variety of fish that are best sellers when dried can be found here but most of them are seasonal. When we got there, we only saw Tabagak and few others on the Handayan (improvised structure of bamboo where they dry the fish). Usually they are reserved for big buyers that distribute them in the markets. I’m not sure if you can buy some directly from them and if so, surely you’ll get a good bargain.
