Globe, PLDT power up Dinagyang 2012 with FREE Wifi
Globe Telecom and PLDT gear up for the Dinagyang Festival 2012 in Iloilo this weekend by providing free WiFi at the two main judging areas of the festival highlights.
Globe has set up WiFi routers at the Freedom Grandstand (Judging Area 1) for the VIPs and judges, at the Iloilo Sports Complex (Judging Area 4), and at the Sports Complex’s poolside for the National Invitational Swimming Competition.
No password is needed to enjoy the Globe free WiFi that would run at a speed of up to 3 mbps.
PLDT on the other hand was the first to announce that they will provide free WiFi services at those venues mentioned above.
This is another milestone in the history of Dinagyang Festival. With the easy access to the Internet courtesy of the free WiFi from these networks, revelers with smartphones, tablets and other gadgets capable of WiFi connectivity can easily update their social media that can give Dinagyang Festival a wider coverage and exposure in the world wide web.
Live streaming initiatives will also become a breeze for those who won’t be able to come to Iloilo to watch the festival.
