Go Hotel soon to rise at Robinsons Place Iloilo
Development and expansion plans looms in the pipeline for Robinsons Place Iloilo this year including the construction of a Go Hotels chain here.
Just as the year started, the mall closed its Ledesma Wing and the whole of its Ledesma open carpark to give way for the first phase of constructions.
A 7-storey (yet to be confirmed) building is planned to be constructed at the Ledesma Carpark of the mall which will house retail spaces on the 1st and 2nd floors and the company’s budget hotel chain, Go Hotel with several function rooms at the upper floors. The structure will be connected to the existing main mall building up to the 3rd floor.
Go Hotel (Gohotels.ph) is chain of hotels that provide a variable pricing scheme, commonly practiced by airlines, which rewards lowest available rates to the traveler with the quickest click. Currently, it has established its brand in key locations across the country, specifically in Metro Manila and Palawan. Aside from Iloilo, Go Hotel will also open a chain in Dumaguete, Bacolod and Tacloban.
With this development, Robinsons Place Iloilo will become even bigger. To date, it is the biggest mall project of Robinsons Land Corporation in the Visayas and Mindanao area. It has a total retail floor area of 75,000 square meters.
Robinsons has yet to issue an official statement regarding this development. I will post an update here as they are available.
