Bank Directory of Iloilo

Iloilo has a very competitive and thriving market in the bank industry. If you may notice banks around the city are from corner to corner. This is a clear indication that money abounds from all over Iloilo. A quick look in the past, BPI then El Banco Español Filipino de Isabel II established its first branch in Iloilo after its establishment in Manila during the Spanish Colonial Period. In 1883, HSBC Savings Bank (Philippines) Inc. opened their second branch in Iloilo to serve the growing sugar industry after they opened their first Philippine branch in Binondo Manila in 1875 but closed Iloilo branch in 1982. Another international bank who gaged in Iloilo banking industry is the Standard Chartered (formerly Chartered Bank of India, China and Australia) but exited after selling its branch to Allied Bank.

This directory is classed into 3 categories namely: universal and commercial banks, thrift banks and rural and cooperative banks. This includes the address telephone/ fax numbers and websites of banks.

      HSBC has a branch in Iloilo when it was first established in the Philippines in 1875 but was closed in 1981. (read: http://www.hsbc.com.ph/1/2/aboutus).
