Iloilo IT Week Celebration 2009
The 4th Iloilo IT Week celebration is scheduled on September 28-30, 2009. This year’s theme, “Facing Global Challenges through I.T.,” focuses on the opportunities for employment and economic advancement brought about by the ICT industry. A 3-day event that will feature exhibits, lectures, competitions and jobs fair among others. Iloilo IT Week Celebration is Organized by the Iloilo Federation for Information Technology (IFIT) in cooperation with the city and provincial governments and Department of Trade and Industry-Iloilo. Since its trailblazer start in 2006, Iloilo IT Week celebration has been an annual fete that gathers schools, businesses and government sectors to tackle and celebrate the development of the ICT in Iloilo.
This year’s celebration will be held at Robinson’s Place Iloilo. Several exciting lectures were devised for the highlights of the event with expertise coming from Manila and Cebu to talk on their respective niche in the ever growing and dependable ICT industry in the Philippines. Ms. Janette Toral of digitalfilipino.com for instance will talk about “Freelance 101: Turning Passion to Profit – Blogging from Home” which will be a very interesting topic for aspiring and budding writers/bloggers. Ms. Aileen Apolo, consultant for the Philippines of google will also be present in the lecture series along with other speakers.
