Iloilo’s Dinagyang and Pantat Festivals dominated Aliwan 2011

Two out of three contingents from Iloilo swept the top spots in the 2011 Aliwan Fiesta. Held last April 14-16 in Manila, the annual gathering of the best festivals in the Philippines is a much-awaited event that draws large number crowd.

Aliwan Fiesta is organized by Manila Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) in cooperation with the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

This year, Iloilo’s Dinagyang Festival, represented by Tribu Pan-ay emerged as the 2011 Aliwan Festival Grand Champion in the Street Dancing competition.

Landing on the second place is no other than Pantat Festival of Zarraga representing the Kasadyahan Festival.

Aside from the trophies, the Dinagyang contingent also went home with the 1 Million Pesos grand prize.

Miss Dinagyang on the otherhand bagged the Best in Festival Costume award.
