You might have already heard of the name Manuel “Manny” Libres Librodo Jr. He is considered as a world-class portrait and travel photographer and a proud Ilonggo. He was given numerous recognitions and awards worldwide for his photographs. He also bagged various awards in photography contests. He is a photo ambassador that promotes photography as an art similar to paintings and sculptures. His photos shored on several Magazine covers such as NEED Magazine in the US, Portrait Photography Magazine in Ukraine, Red Lantern Magazine in New York, Dance Festival memorabilia and posters in Poland, Mabuhay Magazine, Digital Photographer Magazine in the Philippines and UNICEF’s Wall Calendar for 2009. He is known for his portraits that looked similar to a painting. He hails from Lambunao, Iloilo and is now based in Thailand as a fulltime teacher on weekdays and a photography guru on weekends. Photo enthusiasts from all over the world come to him to have workshops and he had travelled the world conducting workshops in countries like the Netherlands, United States, Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Australia in a span of three years.
Last July 11-17, 2009 he had exhibited some of his works at Amigo Mall dubbed as ‘A Landscape of Emotions’. It showcased portraits from different parts of the world including shots from Iloilo. The framed portraitures were sold for 3500Php each and his masterpiece “Rosalinda” sold for 20,000Php. The proceeds of the exhibit benefited the “Mga Kaibigan Ng Mga Kabataang May Kanser (KKK) organized by TMX. Manny Librodo truly enlivened the artist’s heart in every Ilonggo with his works.
