The Talent Night Competitions which is a part of the month long Ms. Earth Pageant was held in Central Philippine University (CPU) in Iloilo City. The competition was staged at the Rose Memorial Auditorium of CPU last November 17, 2009 that showcased different talents of different candidates from the countries all over the world. It wowed many Ilonggos as they witness for the first time this world-class competitions unfolding in front of their very eye. It was an honor for CPU and Iloilo to host part of this grand pageantry in the world.

Miss Earth Pageant is the only Philippine based international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness similar to the other two prestigious contests, the Miss Universe and Miss World. It has started in 2001 by the Carousel Productions, Inc. As to date, 80 to 90 candidates are participating in this environmental cause driven pageant from all around the world.
This year’s Miss Earth Finale and Coronation Night will be held in Boracay Ecovillage Resort and Convention Center in the tropical island paradise of Boracay on November 22, 2009.
Several events and competitions has been held here in Iloilo for this past months including the 14th UNIGAMES, International Math Competitions to name a few. It simply shows that Iloilo is ready to accommodate such these big events although we still need bigger convention centers and more convention facilities to better give Iloilo a boost in hosting events.
