New Shops and Restaurants:
SM City:
- Charles and Keith (Now Open) – This is said to be a temporary branch for testing the waters here in Iloilo. A full boutique will be opened in the next few months.

- Mooon Café – The second branch here in Iloilo City located at The Southpoint, SM City Iloilo.
- Starbucks Coffee – The first branch of Starbucks Coffee here will be located at The SM Southpoint beside Mooon Cafe.

Robinsons Place Iloilo:
- Anea Nail Spa (Now Open)
- Mooon Cafe (Now Open) – The first branch of this Mexican Inspired restaurant here in Iloilo. It is located at Paseo Iloilo, Robinsons Place Iloilo.

Smallville Area:
- E-Games – A PAGCOR supervised gaming hub that caters to the gaming public with only the best in online entertainment, gameplay- and quality-wise, providing great games without the hassles of time credits and prepaid accounts. This will be located at The Avenue Complex in Smallville, Manddurriao, Iloilo City.
City Proper Area:
- Afriques Valeria (http://www.afriquespizza.com) – This branch will be located at the new building beside The Atrium Mall along Valeria St.
Villa Arevalo District:
- The Oyster House Seafood Restaurant (Now Open) – A new seafood restaurant specializing on oysters is now open at Brgy. Sta. Filomena, Villa, lloilo City along the National Highway in Arevalo district (http://theoysterhouse.multiply.com).
Constructions and Developments:
- Philtrust Bank Building – Delgado St. – The long been abandoned prime lot of Philtrust Bank at the corner of Delgado and Quezon Streets is now being transformed into reality and actually nearing completion. The building has a neo-classical architecture that it can be mistaken as a boutique hotel.

- Skinetics Building – Underconstruction at Boardwalk Commercial Complex fronting the underconstruction first face of Ayala Technohub.
- Savannah Commercial Strip

- Hinduja Global Solutions – This Indian Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) will be relocating soon in Iloilo City.
- Avida Iloilo – A wholly owned subsidiary of Ayala Land Corporation that offers affordable living targeting the middle class Filipino families.
- SM Hypermarket Iloilo – Makro Iloilo is now being converted to be the first SM Hypermarket in Iloilo and is expected to be completed by the year ends.
- Smallville 21 Hotel Annex – Smallville 21 Hotel in Smallville complex is nearing completion but before it finally start operating there is another addition to its original masterplan – a 4-storey annex.

- P200-Million Rice Processing Plant – A P200-million Modern Integrated Rice Processing Complex will be constructed in Brgy. Amamaros in Pototan, Iloilo. The one-hectare rice processing complex, composed of receiving, drying, milling and storage facilities, is expected to be completed in a year.
- Iloilo Fish Port Complex Rehabilitation – The Japan International Cooperation Agency has approved a P1-billion soft loan for the rehabilitation of the Iloilo Fish Port Complex in Iloilo City. This project will take three years to complete, includes installation of a solar-powered electricity system, construction of a fish processing plant and rehabilitation of the existing refrigeration plant.
- Eco-Park at Calajunan Dumpsite – The three-hectare old Calajunan dumpsite located in Mandurriao district, Iloilo City will soon be converted into an ecological park. (read more…)
- New International Standard Ferry Terminal at Port San Pedro – Mayor Jed Mabilog and Congressman Jerry Trenas are working together for the realization of the establishment of this new Ferry Terminal in Port San Pedro to serve the Iloilo – Guimaras trips. This project will be funded by World Bank.
- Iloilo Sports Complex Facilities Renovation – Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. is planning to have the Iloilo Sports Complex facilities be repaired to make it fully functional. The full repair will cost at least P12 million from the province’s budget
- Regional Museum – Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. plans to transform the 868-square meter old provincial jail along Bonifacio Drive, Iloilo City into a regional museum. It will house paintings and sculptures of artists from Iloilo, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Negros Occidental, and also historical and cultural artifacts. The façade will be maintained due to its historical significance.
- Eco-Parks in Buenavista, Guimaras – There will be two eco parks that are expected to open before the year ends. (read more…)
