Quick Round Up of the Newest Dining Hubs in Iloilo

July 2009 Update

Recently several food chains, coffee shops, bar and restaurants both local and international have made their way in branching out here in Iloilo. The food and beverage industry here is very alive that enticed those chains to open doors here. The newest additions spread all over Smallville, SM City and other key locations in the city. Here is a list and quick details for you to refer.

ALREADY OPENED

Bluejay Coffee and Deli

Bluejay Coffee and Deli. The hip and chic new coffee resto at Amigo Mall. They have opened quite sometime already but just a round up I’ll include them in this list. They have currently 3 braches icluding this newly opened and most cozy addition. Branches at Smallville, Gen. Luna (near Times Square) and Amigo Plaza Mall.

Joey Pepperoni Pizzeria. It is a casual restaurant that specializes in its distinctive take on contemporary Italian-American cuisine. I think this is their first branch outside Metro Manila. They are located at the Corner M.H. del Pilar St and Diversion Road, Molo just beneath the Infante flyover occupying the old recruitment center of CallBox beside Ted’s Batchoy fronting Jollibee Gen. Kopi Roti Iloilo

Kopi Roti. It is a coffee company that started in Singapore and has conquered the Philippine coffee market several years ago. It serves a distinctively tasty coffee and tea prepared in a singaporean way. In Iloilo you can find them at the Smallville Complex in Diversion Road, Mandurriao, Iloilo City inline with Bluejays. Afriques. This restaurant is a true pride of Iloilo. This is a testimony of how magnificent and diverse the Ilonggo cuisine is. They serve gourmet pizza, pasta and more. They have four (4) branches all over the city; Jaro (behind Jaro Cathedral), Molo (M.H. del Pilar St., fronting La Fiesta Hotel), Gen Hughes (Near Plaza Libertad going to Fort San Pedro) and the newest addition is in Smallville Complex in Mandurriao.

SOON TO OPEN

Cilantro Iloilo

Cilantro Bar and Restaurant. This bar will be located at The Avenue in Smallville Complex Mandurriao fronting the well acclaimed Amalfi Cucina Italiana. Cilantro is a Mexican inspired resto bar and a disco bar at the second floor. They will have their soft launching on September 5, 2009 with guest DJ from Metro Manila.

Dulcinea. It is a middle class dining that especializes in Spanish cuisine, cakes and pastries. They are famous in their Churros con Choco, Paella Valencia, Tuhod Y Ajillo, Salpicao, Lengua Estofado, and Tortilla Riojana. They will be opening this September or October at SM City Iloilo in the then Pancake House.

Coffee Break Gourmet Cafe. Coffee Break coffee chain, a proud Ilonggo is opening another yet new venture in the coffee and pastry industry. Opening soon in SM City Iloilo located in between Red Ribbon Bakeshop and the Soon To Open Dulcinea.

Cafe Laguna. Another coffee shop chain from Cebu is set to conquer Iloilo. They are located at the Upper Ground Level of SM City Iloilo beside the newly renovated David’s Tea House, fronting the soon to open People Are People Boutique. Website: www.cafelaguna.com

Goldilocks. Goldilocks have several kiosks in SM City Iloilo but yet to have a full service foodshop. But with the exit of Iloilo Krystal Ice Halo Halo in SM City they took over the lucrative slot. Goldilocks Bakeshop and Foodshop soon to open at SM City Iloilo.
