A new shopping center looms in Molo district here in Iloilo City. Called GT Plaza Mall, the new establishment is located along M.H. del Pilar St., near the BIR Regional Office, just a stone’s throw away from Molo Plaza.
Its main anchor store will be Robinsons Supermarket with several leasable spaces available for other tenants.
Incidentally, the former Chinese district in Iloilo doesn’t have a proper designated public market (although I’ve heard they are building one), hence this development is very relevant. Currently, shopping establishments within the vicinity include Iloilo Supermart and Island Shopping Center (?).
I am not sure if the project is fully owned by Robinsons Land Corporation or is solely developed by a local company. Whichever the case may be, this 2-storey shopping center sports a new and modern look shifting from the conventional boxy types of mall buildings.
More details will be posted here as soon as they are available including the target completion and opening dates.
On the other hand, SM Prime Holdings has been previously bruited to have acquired a property on the other side of the Plaza.
Exciting times ahead for Molo indeed!
