Last Sunday, September 6, 2009 the Palanca award-winning play which was published into a book was launched in Iloilo. Launching the book was its multi-awarded writer, Mr. Peter Solis Nery, held at the event center of SM City Iloilo. The program started at 11am and among the attendees were students and teachers from St. Paul University Iloilo, UPV and Iloilo Central Commercial High School and some guys from the Iloilo Bloggers Organization as well. Family, friends and supporters of Nery were also present including representatives from the Fuentes-Pison Clan.

The program started with the introduction of who Peter Nery is and what the book is all about, all in an interview setting. The enthusiastic audience then got entertained by a short play of excerpts from the book performed by Ms. Krisha Marie Abelarde, a graduating Special Education student from University of San Agustin who played Jovita Fuentes. She sang “Ay, Ay Kalisud” and “When I Have Sung My Songs To You”. After the performance followed the question and answer part with questions coming from the students and budding writer participants. One question took Mr. Nery to peek on his short topic about “How to be A Good Writer Before You Are Dead.” The last part of the program was the book signing. Hosted by Ms. Erma Magbanua.

The Peter Nery Book launching was sponsored by SM City Iloilo, Afrique’s, Esca’s Garden Restaurant, Hotel del Rio, Panay News, and www.gigsilonggo.com

jun, thank you so much for this post. the pictures here really look good. anytime soon, NATIONAL BOOKSTORE outlets all over the country will carry the book, hopefully at the same price of P300. the other option is for interested parties to buy the book online. i saw one advertisement at “sulit.com.ph” and some people have actually volunteered to sell my books online. again, madamu gid nga salamat.
Thanks for this!
