The Sooo Pinoy Food Tour Iloilo Leg – Day 1
The Sooo Pinoy team started dousing into the goodness of Ilonggo cuisine by sampling the best it can offer at Freska Ilonggo Seafood Restaurant.
Renowned Ilonggo restaurateur Pauline Banusing of Freska prepared Chicken Binakol, KBL (Kadios Baboy Langka) and an Ilonggo dish innovation, Pinamalhan na Pink Salmon. Sweet Guimaras mangoes with Gelato were also served.
After having an early lunch at Freska, the team checked-in at the hotel and prepared for an afternoon meal by the river at Hotel del Rio’s Igmaan Restaurant where we enjoyed the delicious spicy Bangus Sisig and the refreshing healthy Malunggay Citrus drink.
The team then embarked on a short city tour in downtown Iloilo to have a glimpse of an olden Spanish-influenced commercial district.
Then, we had an early dinner at Green Mango restaurant along Valeria Street where everyone was delighted by the Lechon Kawali and Pepper Crusted Sibingan on the table. After that, the team proceeded to the next food stop, Floyd’s Famous BBQ restaurant at the Ayala Technohub in Mandurriao. There, the team indulged in a stand-off with yet another cholesterol-laden spread. We had Pork and Chicken barbecue and loads of Crispy Pata. To balance it out, Floyd’s served one of the new healthy items in their menu, the Moringa Pasta.
To cap the first day of the Sooo Pinoy Iloilo food tour, the team were served with Moringa Crusted Sibingan and Ginataang Pusit at Bauhinia Filipino Cuisine at The Avenue Complex.
