Western Visayas Tourism Assembly 2009
Western Visayas Tourism Assembly (WVTA) is an annual convention of tourism stakeholders in Region 6 that includes tourism officers, travel and tours operators, hoteliers and other essential partners in the hospitality and tourism industries. It is a time to address issues in this country’s big job and income generator industry. It is a 3-day activity that showcases various events such as travel mart and fair, tourism conference, parade of festivals, cultural showcase, tourism awards, travel invitational, food festival and search for Miss Western Visayas Tourism. It is one great opportunity to witness the best Festivals of the Philippines from Western Visayas perform in the highlights of this convention, such as Iloilo’s Dinagyang Festival, Bacolod’s Masskara Festival, Aklan’s Ati-Atihan, Antique’s Binirayan Festival, Guimaras’ Manggahan Festival and Capiz’ Sinadya sa Halaran to name a few. This year’s assembly will be hosted by Roxas City in the Province of Capiz with the theme “The National Tourism Act of 2009: Meeting the Challenges of Domestic Tourism.”.
